About the role
Are you a savvy social media fan with experience with content creation? We are looking for a Social Media Content Assistant to join our social, content and influencer team – to propel us to be the best in the bizz!
You'll be a hands-on, creative thinker, playing an active role in the success of our organic social media activity. Supporting the Social Media Managers and assistant Social Media Managers, you'll support admin support and content creation – including creating scroll-stopping pieces of content, scheduling, basic community management and publishing.
You will produce engaging and creative content. This may be in front of or behind the camera, wherever the brief takes you. You will be confident and have impeccable attention to detail to ensure every piece of content is high-quality and catches the eye of our users.
This role will see you working across multiple channels including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and more, with the goal of enhancing Boots social media presence, making us the leaders in this space.
Key responsibilities
1. Content Creation & Ideation:
Develop and produce social-first, high-quality and on-brand content for various social media platforms including video, photography, copy, and graphic design for use across all social media channels.
Produce self-filmed content with confidence and quality. This is anything from a skincare routine to a vitamins educational video.
Brainstorm ideas with the team for all social media moments. Think reactive TikTok trends to a unique concept for a new brand launch.
Deliver and produce creative briefs that have been sent from the wider social media and content team. You will be able to clearly follow a brief to any deadline whilst adding your own creative flair.
Attend shoots, events and other brand activities to capture new and creative content.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in social media and the beauty/baby/healthcare industry to ensure Boots remains at the forefront of social content, creating the BEST in the business!
2. Social Media:
Support with the delivery of the @BootsUK social calendars, across all channels – TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Threads – stock checking, scheduling posts, tagging products and publishing content
Lead the scheduling and publishing content across our @BootsUK accounts during the week, with out of hours posting required
Help with content creation where required – being quick to action content briefs from the team and self-shooting lo-fi assets for social channels
Creating social content on Canva
Order stock for content shoots and keep on top of internal stock levels
Attend events which may sometimes be out of work hours, anywhere in the country, to capture content
Support with compiling documents and presentations to present and send to the business, that shows our social media and content plans
Be an important admin support for the social media and content team in the execution of all activity, when required
Keep up to date with key industry developments and trends, and ensure you're feeding these into the Social and Content team
What you'll need to have
Experience with content creation, specifically in the world of health and beauty. You will already have a genuine interest in our brands, covering everything from TikTok sensation Made By Mitchell, to our everyday essential health and wellness ranges.
In the know with the world of creators and influencers. Aware of influencers from 1000 to 1,000,000 followers.
Strong proficiency in content creation tools (Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva, video editing software, etc.).
In-depth understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
Creative mindset with the ability to produce fresh, original ideas for campaigns and content.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
The ability to be agile and flexible with working hours and location
Experience in content creation for brands.
It would be great if you also have
Experience with influencer marketing and partnerships.
Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva).
