Nottingham
Full-Time
Permanent
Closing Date: Friday 12th June
Location: Nottingham, Full-Time
Contract: Permanent
Recruitment Partner: Frankie McCallister-Lyas

Overview:

B-Hive is the in-house creative agency for Boots, bringing to life the visual identity and creative needs of some of the most recognisable names in the beauty industry — including No7, Soap & Glory, Liz Earle, and Boots own brands.

We offer the agility, speed, and brand understanding of an internal team, paired with the quality and versatility of a high-performing creative agency. We are passionate about great ideas, pixel-perfect execution, and creative that delivers impact both in-store and online.

We’re looking for a Midweight Designer & Artworker who is confident producing high-quality print design and finished artwork across a wide variety of formats — from in-store communications and packaging to print ads and marketing collateral.

This is a hybrid creative and technical role, ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented and passionate about bringing beautiful, functional design to life through faultless execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with our Creative Lead and Lead Designers to deliver high-quality creative across print and digital formats, with a particular focus on in-store comms, packaging and other printed assets.
• Take approved design concepts and create multiple sizes, layouts, and adaptations for different placements and formats.
• Prepare and format final artwork files for various channels, ensuring all assets meet the required technical specifications.
• Apply extensive knowledge of print production techniques, colour management, finishes, and stock — delivering press-ready artwork that meets brand standards and technical requirements.
• Support the design team by creating templates, building asset libraries and maintaining efficient file structures and naming conventions.
• Maintain high quality control on all outgoing files, checking layout, typography, alignment, consistency, and production details.
• Make copy amends, layout tweaks and design updates to existing artwork or templates.
• Optimise artwork for digital platforms, including web and email formats, ensuring strong cross-channel performance.
• Support asset management, archiving, and version control to keep everything organised and accessible.
• Collaborate across departments — including client management, marketing and production — to ensure smooth and timely delivery of all assets.

What you'll need to have:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design or a related subject.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a professional design and artwork setting, preferably within retail or agency environments.
• Proven experience designing and artworking for print — especially in-store communications, packaging, and point-of-sale material.
• A strong technical artworking background with excellent knowledge of print production methods and processes.
• Exceptional attention to detail with an appreciation for design craft and creativity.
• Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite – particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Ability to create high-quality, press-ready artwork and work efficiently across multiple briefs and deadlines.
• Comfortable working across multiple brands and adapting to different visual identities.
• Ability to manage versioning, adapt layouts for multiple formats and ensure all creative output is accurate, on-brand, and delivered to spec.
• Organised, proactive and methodical in file management, version control and workflow.
• Comfortable supporting and collaborating with creatives at all levels of experience.

It'd be great if you also have:

• Experience working in the beauty, fashion, or retail industry.
• Familiarity with digital asset management systems and artwork archiving processes.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior designers or artworkers.
• An interest in creative design and a willingness to be involved in the conceptual phases of the design process.

If you’re a technically-skilled designer with an eye for detail, a passion for print, and love seeing beautifully crafted ideas come to life in-store and on paper — we’d love to hear from you.
