About the role
Are you a visionary in beauty science with a passion for innovation? No7 Beauty Company is on the lookout for a Formulation Manager to lead our next generation of breakthrough products. In this exciting role, you'll guide a talented team of formulators, drive product and technology development, and ensure our offerings are not only effective but also align with the evolving needs of our consumers. You'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge beauty solutions, blending scientific expertise with consumer insights.
The role reports to the Head of Formulation and Consumer Sciences in the No7 Beauty Company Research & Innovation team.
As Formulation Manager you will drive product innovation by leading a team of world-class formulation scientists in the research and development of novel technologies, delivery systems and product formats with a focus on IP protection, sustainability, safety and regulatory compliance.
Develop internal capabilities to create a forward-looking product design approach, leveraging automation, high-throughput methods, and digital technologies to improve time-to-market, reduce costs, and enhance product effectiveness and quality.
Builds strong relationships with suppliers and academic partners to drive innovation through collaboration and co-creation.
Maintain a deep understanding of our brands and the global skincare market to ensure prototypes are fit for purpose, consumer-focused, future facing and commercially viable.
What you'll need to have
Formulation Expertise: A strong scientist, preferably with experience in Cosmetics / Beauty / Personal Care categories.
An understanding of consumer relevant research methodologies utilised in R&D including laboratory methods, consumer testing, clinical studies.
Ability to use technical know how to solve problems and create business opportunities to enhance consumer value
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders. Builds and maintains strong relationships with external collaborators.
It would be great if you also have
Experience of managing technical individuals or teams is desirable.
Experience in using high throughput methodologies or digital technologies to develop and screen novel formulation prototypes.
Proven ability to collaborate and co-create new formulation ideas or concepts with external raw material suppliers or academics.
