No7 launches world-first technology on a global stage at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Conference in Louisiana

No7, the UK’s number one skincare brand[1], exhibited and presented at the weekend’s American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) annual meeting to introduce the next generation in skin science and repair.

Scientists from the British beauty brand engaged with world leading dermatologists and revealed, for the first time, a world-first new ‘super peptide’ proven to harness the skin’s natural repair process. Created with skin scientists at the University of Manchester, the novel matrix derived peptide blend is the result of 15 years of research into skin ageing and repair.

This discovery builds on a long history of scientific innovation for No7; the brand was the first to prove that non-medical cosmetic products worked when the scientific efficacy of the No7 Protect and Perfect Serum was verified on BBC Horizon in 2007. In 2009 No7 was the first to publish a 12-month study on an anti-ageing cosmetic product showing clinical wrinkle improvements in a paper published in the British Journal of Dermatology.

“No7 has always led with scientific innovation, and we continue to prioritise our research through our long-standing partnership with the brilliant scientists at the University of Manchester,” said Kelli Hearst, No7’s Global Product Director. This is the biggest cosmetic science innovation in No7’s 86-year history and a world-first technology that cannot be found in any other product and so we want to showcase this on a Global stage. The American Academy of Dermatology’s Annual Conference is No7’s first ever presence at an international scientific conference and we want to continue developing relationships with leading dermatologists, demonstrating that our products are backed by breakthrough science and years of academic research.”

Dermatologists from across the globe were invited to interact with No7 through an immersive exhibition stand which included an introduction to the brand and its iconic products, a scientific timeline, No7’s Pro Derm Scan skin analysis tool, a product pick n mix wall and a skincare confession telephone booth. No7’s Head of Science Research, Dr Mike Bell hosted a special speaker session to unveil this world-first ‘Matrikine’ peptide blend and the unique approach taken to identify bioactive naturally occurring peptides released from matrix degradation.

The new super peptide technology has been met with excitement from the global scientific community. The technology is due to be presented at another two world leading scientific conferences this Spring, the British Society for Investigative Dermatology (BSID) Annual Meeting in Glasgow and the International Societies for Investigative Dermatology (ISID) meeting in Tokyo.
