From starting as a Customer Advisor to becoming a UK Talent and Development Specialist, her story highlights the growth, learning, and supportive culture within the No7 Beauty Company.
Tell us about your career journey and how you became a Talent and Development Specialist?
I began my career with Boots 18 years ago as a Customer Advisor. Shortly after completing my education, I was fortunate to join the No7 team in my hometown store in York. This opportunity sparked a deep passion for the No7 brand and led me to progress into the role of No7 Business Manager, where I was responsible for coaching, leading, and developing advisors within one of the largest No7 accounts in the business.
This experience enhanced my confidence and revealed a strong enthusiasm for training and development. I then progressed into a No7 Trainer role through a secondment opportunity, which further confirmed my commitment to building a long-term career with No7 Beauty Company.
From there, I moved into a Regional Business Manager role, further broadening my knowledge and skill set. I later moved into support office position as No7 Communications and Engagement Specialist, before taking on my current role as UK Talent and Development Specialist for No7 Beauty Company.
What does a typical day in your role look like?
A typical day in the life in my role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, which I love. I begin each day by creating a structured to do list. No two days are alike: at times I am in stores working alongside the brilliant No7 and Liz Earle advisor teams, while on other occasions I am engaged in virtual meetings, collaborating with colleagues across the Boots, No7 Beauty Company business, and the No7 Beauty Company Field Sales and Education Team. A particular highlight of my role is planning and delivering both internal and external events for No7 Beauty Company. These events provide opportunities to align with key business priorities, showcase new product launches, and enhance brand awareness across diverse audiences.
What do you enjoy the most about your role?
What I enjoy most about my role, is the diversity of it. It has enabled me to build strong professional relationships with both head office and field teams, while contributing and leading multiple projects. One of the most rewarding aspects is seeing initiatives I have developed come to life in real time with our advisor teams.
One thing that stays in my mind is attending a Macmillan Health and Wellbeing for all patients in the care of the cancer care centres in Leicestershire. As a trained No7 Macmillan Beauty Advisor I displayed the amazing support No7 Advisors could provide in stores for anyone living with cancer to feel more like themselves again. I made some great connections in the local area and linked them up with No7 stores near to them, it was so fulfilling as everyone I spoke to at the event, were not aware of this partnership.
Throughout my career, I have formed lasting friendships, and I thrive in collaborative environments. Having a role that allows me to work closely with others every day is the dream for me.
What support were you given to progress in your career at No7 Beauty Company?
I wouldn’t have been able to progress in my career without the support of the brilliant leaders we have in Boots and No7 Beauty Company. When I attended No7 events as an Advisor or a Business Manager, I would always come away inspired and motivated by all the fabulous teams we heard from on the day, I would be curious to understand more about their roles and how they fit into the No7 Beauty Company business, I would be keen to network and make connections which allowed me to explore what opportunities could be out there for me and what I would love to do.
Our leaders support team members’ development and their long-term career goals. I am so grateful for the numerous leaders that I have been lucky enough to work with, they have been my biggest support for any help and advice as well as being biggest cheerleaders.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career in No7 Beauty Company?
My biggest piece of advice is to bring your passion and energy for beauty and achievement into everything you do. Genuine enthusiasm shines through in your work and inspires those around you. Be ambitious, set clear aspirations for yourself, and communicate openly with your leaders about these. Remember that with focus and determination, anything is possible. I am often described by friends as “No7 Beauty Company through and through,” and I love showing them the latest products and trends. Seeing others develop a love for No7 like I have, shows the impact of working with a brand you believe in.
What is your favourite No7 product?
My favourite No7 Product is the Future Renew Damage Reversal Serum - my skin has never looked so good! A dreamy texture to reverse signs of skin damage giving the ultimate glow.
