Building Confidence Through Skincare and Makeup- Dorine’s Story

Dorine’s journey with No7 really started with her own love for skincare and beauty. It’s not just a job for her, she grew up seeing her family trust No7. That genuine passion just aligned with the brand’s values. Throughout her journey, Dorine has shown to be resilient and adaptable, especially during a challenging period when strong teamwork and store-wide support were very important to success. She truly enjoys helping customers feel confident and valued, taking the time to understand their individual needs and build meaningful relationships. She always puts the customer first, making sure to listen and really get to know what each person needs. One moment that sticks with her is when she helped a customer who was going through a tough time. Dorine wasn’t just there to sell something; she became someone that customer could count on. It’s those connections that remind her why she does what she does. Her plan in the future is to combine her upcoming degree in Digital Marketing with her hands-on store experience, and to bring fresh ideas while continuing to grow within No7.

What inspired you to work with No7?

When I started university, I was eager to find a job. I had several friends who worked in No7 company and spoke highly of their experiences. Additionally, my mum and grandmother already used many No7 products, so it felt like a brand that I could easily connect with. I’ve always been passionate about makeup and skincare, and I love the idea of helping others feel better and confident about themselves and this is exactly what inspired me to work for No7 company.

What kind of support were you provided to help you succeed in your role?

When I joined, we didn’t have a dedicated counter manager, and the leadership was managed on rotational basis. Because of this my colleagues played a key role in supporting, guiding and helping me understand how things worked on a day-to-day basis.
I also received a lot of support from wider store leaders, like the assistant store manager, Claire. She motivated us by introducing incentives to drive both counter sales and team engagement.
This support was very valuable for me, especially during a busy and challenging period for the counter in 2023. This encouragement and teamwork helped me to settle in and succeed in my role.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

What I enjoy the most about my job is to make people feel beautiful. I love being able to help our customers feel seen and valued by using No7 products. I also really enjoy listening to what our customers need and want. It’s a rewarding experience when customers can trust me and open during the makeover and consultations sessions.

What has been your most memorable moment as a No7 Advisor?

One of my memorable moments as a No7 advisor was with a Macmillan customer who came to the counter feeling distressed as she felt like nothing suited her anymore. She had undergone a treatment and was not sure of what to do next, especially with her skincare and makeup.
She trusted me and opened about her experience, and I was able to help her create a completely new skincare and makeup routine which was tailored for her. What made the experience truly special was the connection we built as she became one of my regular customers, not only for advice but also sometimes for a chat. We both shared stories from our lives and she remembered it which meant a lot to me.
I am happy to say today she is cancer-free and isn’t undergoing any treatments. She still visits me from time to time, and I feel so privileged that I was able to help someone and be a part of their journey – it’s just so rewarding.

I am looking forward to graduating from my university and being able to put my qualifications to use. I will be graduating in Digital Marketing and I feel like I have so many ideas and insights that could be applied to a brand like No7. Right now, I am looking forward to what is next and continue to learn, grow and develop within No7.
